MCC Royals and MCC Thunders Shine with Impressive Wins in MCL 11 T20

The MCL 11 T20 tournament saw some thrilling action on Saturday at the MCC Ground, Margao, as MCC Royals and MCC Thunders registered memorable wins.

In the morning clash, MCC Thunders chased down a target of 145 runs in 18.3 overs to defeat MCC Masters by four wickets. Batting first, the Masters managed 144 all out, with Dr. Sunny top-scoring with a well-made 38. However, it was Iftikhar Aga’s brilliant bowling — taking 4 wickets for 17 runs — that put the Thunders firmly in control and earned him the Player of the Match award.

The Thunders’ batting lineup capitalised on the early advantage, with Dr. Pawan Rane (37), Om Fadte (37), and Sahil Adwalpalkar (28) playing crucial knocks that guided their team home. Solid support from Sudesh Rane and Sudhir Shet ensured that the chase was never in doubt.

The afternoon session featured a high-scoring thriller as MCC Royals posted a competitive 174/6 in 20 overs against MCC Avengers. The Avengers fought valiantly, finishing at 165 in 19.4 overs, but came up short of the target. Venkatesh Nevagi led the fightback with 37 runs, but the all-round brilliance of Venkat Biche, who scored 35 runs and took 2/11, earned him the Man of the Match award.

With these wins, both Royals and Thunders have strengthened their campaigns, thrilling fans with strong performances with both bat and ball.
